For Parents & Teachers
At Shared Apprenticeships, we aim to inspire young people and support local schools and colleges across the South West wherever possible – including at virtual events. These activities can include careers fairs, mock interviews, inspirational talks or workshops, and potentially involve our Apprentices themselves. We are also an Ambassador for SWAAN, the South West Apprenticeship Ambassador Network. Please get in touch to discuss the possibilities – Contact Us.
We are a local employer and recruit a wide variety of Level 2 Trade Apprentices including Bricklayers, Groundworkers and Scaffolders (plus Site Carpentry Apprentices at Level 2 and Level 3). We also employ Level 3 Civil Engineering Technicians*1 and Level 4 Technical Apprentices including Construction Civil Engineering Technicians*1, Site Supervisors and Construction Quantity Surveyors – all at local Colleges or approved Training Providers. Read more here.
And we support the Local Economy by employing local people from local communities and arranging a series of work placements for them with Host Contractors*2 in the region. When the work is finished, we want our Apprentices to be able to say, “I live locally, and I helped build that!”
Our Apprentices are supported by qualified Mentors who remain in regular contact with them throughout their work placements with Host Contractors in the area. We pay the National Minimum Wage – which is more than the statutory minimum rate for Apprentices – we provide insurance, PPE, a toolkit, health and safety training, and a CSCS card*3. We also cover travel expenses and relevant accommodation costs for any block release apprenticeship training, if needed.
