Why be an Apprentice?

‘’My apprenticeship enables me to work on-site and explore my career in a real-world setting with experienced professionals. It has also provided financial freedom, allowing me to enjoy life. Choosing an apprenticeship has been the best decision for my personal and professional growth."
Dan, Apprentice Site Supervisor
“I chose an apprenticeship to gain practical experience and unique work-based knowledge that you can’t get from traditional classroom learning. An apprenticeship offers me the opportunity to earn a qualification while working, allowing me to build both my skills and career simultaneously. So far I have had the chance to meet a variety of people with different backgrounds and experiences, which broadened my perspective. My apprenticeship has been an invaluable way to kick-start my career and develop professionally”
Owen, Apprentice Site Supervisor
Coming from a university background in construction, I now fully understand why many people opt for an apprenticeship instead.
Not only am I gaining valuable hands-on industry experience, but I’m also getting paid to learn on the job!
Since starting my placement, I’ve learned an incredible amount—far more than I ever could have from behind a desk. I've gained insight into various areas of the industry, from the commercial side to effectively managing project sequences.”
Diana, Apprentice Site Supervisor

What Our Apprentices Say

"Completing my Level 3 Business Administrator apprenticeship with Shared Apprenticeships has been an incredible experience. The support I received from my Apprentice Manager and the wider team at Shared Apprenticeships was fantastic. They ensured that I gained essential skills and valuable hands-on experience.

This apprenticeship has set me up for success in my career as it has given me a recognised qualification and the confidence to excel in a professional environment. I would highly recommend completing an apprenticeship with Shared Apprenticeships"
Apprentice Business Administrator
"I would highly recommend Shared Apprenticeships as an early careers path into the construction industry. They provided mentoring, liaised with college and the Institution of Civil Engineers, paid on time, and answered any questions I had. I am now progressing on to a degree apprenticeship with the main contractor that I have been with on placement with and expect to complete this early as a result of our prior qualification."
Apprentice Civil Engineer
"Shared Apprenticeships do a fantastic job! They are always there for me and step up and ensure I’m okay, I feel comfortable communicating without embarrassment or that they will judge me. They’ve supported me through tough periods. Without them I wouldn’t have finished my apprenticeship. They truly are a great help!"
Apprentice Electrician
“I completed the Design, Surveying & Planning T-Level (equivalent to 3 A-Levels) at college and went to work for Shared Apprenticeships to get my career started as a Level 4 Construction Apprentice. I like Shared Apprenticeships because they’re very hands-on and give you opportunities. As a result, I have had a variety of site experience with two different host companies and am building a great CV for when I finish my apprenticeship.”
