Shared Apprenticeships is a not-for-profit VCSE / Social Enterprise employing young people, typically aged 16-25 as apprentices in the Construction industry and wider Built Environment. Safeguarding our young apprentices

  • Vetted – Enhanced DBS.
  • Trained – e.g., Prevent training and Safeguarding qualifications (Level 2).
  • Designated Safeguarding Lead – DSL Level 3.

Alert to the health, safety and wellbeing of our apprentices

  • From the outset – Delivering an induction, supply PPE, and arranging health & safety training courses.
  • Mental Health aware – Mental Health First Aid qualified.
  • Trained – personally trained in mentoring, health & safety, and mental health.
  • In regular contact with our apprentices – scheduled calls, seeking regular updates but always there in times of need and alert to any issues at home or on site.

  • Arranging Interventions – minimising any potential issues by ‘nipping them in the bud’.

  • Life skills – focusing on listening skills, verbal communication, eye contact, and confidence.
  • Workplace skills – focusing on attendance, punctuality, response to instructions, professionalism in the workplace, IT skills, written communication and presentation skills.
