Subcontractors - If you need to hire a local apprentice for a short-term project without the hassle, we can help!
Local Builders - If you need an apprentice but don't have time to recruit, sort PPE, a CSCS card, or liaise with colleges, we can help!
At Shared Apprenticeships, we employ Level 2 Construction Apprentices in various Trades including –
- Carpentry (L2 and L3)
- Painting and Decorating
We also employ Level 3 Civil Engineering Technicians and Level 4 Technical Apprentices including Construction Civil Engineering Technicians, Site Supervisors and Construction Quantity Surveyors – all at local Colleges or approved Training Providers.
At Shared Apprenticeships, we rotate our Apprentices across a series of work placements to help them to build quality CVs and plenty of useful experience.
If you are only on site for a short period, we can either recruit a new Apprentice or transfer one of our part-qualified Apprentices to work with you for as long as you need.
When the work placement with you is finished, we then proactively source the next Host Contractor unless you seek to hire the Apprentice mid-term.

At Shared Apprenticeships, we can either recruit a new Apprentice or transfer one of our part-qualified Apprentices to work with you for as long as you need.
If we source someone new, we advertise, interview and directly employ a local Apprentice at no cost to you, then place them with you for an agreed period.
Our Apprentices are all local and arrive site-ready with PPE, a toolkit, health and safety training, insurance and a CSCS card.
And after a pre-agreed period of time, you also have the option to take on the Apprentice directly from us, whether part-qualified or on completion of their End Point Assessment.
At Shared Apprenticeships, we work closely with local Colleges and approved Training Providers. This means we can easily identify local apprenticeship provision and opportunities for possible mid-year apprenticeship enrolments, regardless of when the Apprentice start with you on their work placement.
If the apprenticeship training cannot be at a local College or approved Training Provider, we also cover travel costs and any accommodation expenses.
Once the Apprentice has started their course, we act as point of reference for the College Tutor/Assessor in collaboration with you.
We also fully understand the 20 percent off-the-job training requirement of the Apprenticeship Standard.
At Shared Apprenticeships, we ensure that our Apprentices arrive site-ready with PPE, a toolkit, basic health and safety training, insurance and a CSCS card.
We handle PAYE and National Insurance ensuring that our Apprentices receive National Minimum Wage and travel expenses.
And our Early Careers Managers are qualified Mentors who maintain regular contact and any wellbeing support for our Apprentices throughout their work placement.
Before the work placement ends, our team will proactively seek the next Host Contractor, leaving you to move to your next project knowing the Apprentice will continue to build a quality CV through a series of placements until they ultimately complete their apprenticeship.
We support local schools by taking part in careers fairs, mock interviews, inspirational talks and workshops, involving our Apprentice wherever possible to help build their confidence and presentation skills.
We work with the Institution of Civil Engineers (ICE) and Local Colleges to help provide early support in preparation for their End Point Assessments.
We help Young People to gain vital experience across the Construction industry by managing them through a series of work placements with Host Contractors.
At Shared Apprenticeships, we employ local people from local communities on apprenticeships at local Colleges.
Our Apprentices then work in the local area on a series of work placements with either local Contractors or others working out of their usual area.
If it is important to you to leave a lasting impact on the local community and improve the places we live, then we can help. Our Apprentices are all recruited locally and by the end of their apprenticeship, we aim to help them each say, “I Live Locally and I Built That!”
If it important to you to work with others in the area, then we can help. Not only are we local, but we work collaboratively with numerous contractors, local authorities and colleges.
If it is important to you to support other small and medium sized (SME) businesses, then we can help. Not only are we an SME ourselves, but we strive to place our Apprentices with at least one local SME during their apprenticeship, including General Builders, Subcontractors and specialist firms.
If it is important to you to create local jobs, then we can help. We recruit local people from local communities to work locally.
At Shared Apprenticeships, we believe passionately in the ability of our Apprentices. They never cease to impress and amaze us – from appearing on Host Contractor and Regional Authority videos, to helping to promote apprenticeships in schools.
To back up this belief, we enter our exceptional apprentices for Regional and National Awards, collaborating with their Host Contractors and College to gather quotes and evidence which substantiate their achievements as well as maximising their media coverage - e.g. Outstanding Apprentice of the Year (Construction) Finalist Dec-20.
We are also active on most Social Media channels including Twitter, Facebook, Instagram and LinkedIn.
And we work collaboratively with others to secure impactful Press Releases - e.g. City of Bristol college Apprentice Feature Dec-20
We also celebrate successes within the business, including for ‘Apprentice of the Month’ as well as ‘Graduations’ for apprenticeship completions and onward employment.
